Its a farm life for us :)

Farming is a full time hobby for our family. It doesn't matter what kind of weather we are having, the chores still have to be done. Most of the time we really love it. Sometimes those really cold, cold days make you wonder. This winter has been interesting because Lloyd was recovering from his surgery. A special thank you to all those who helped us make it through his recovery time. He just went to the Doctor and he said everything looked great. He was even able to ride a horse and loved it. Now we just need to gradually work back into the whole farm routine.
Feeding the cows every day, December through May, rain or shine! (or snow) Thank goodness for summer pasture!

Catching our horses!

This is the first post surgery ride. Look at that smile.

Empty Nesters on the Road!

Since we have no kids at home we can just pick up and leave whenever we want! Not really, because we have work, and animals, and farming, and church jobs..... you get the picture, but we only have to get the two of us ready to go. So we have had a couple of little trips the last month. They were both great fun. First our Valentines get away/ visit Aubree and Jay trip. Lloyd and I were engaged 28 years ago on Valentines. So we stayed in a nice motel in Salt Lake to celebrate our 28th anniversary of our engagement. It was also nice because it put us half way to Dillon Montana:)
We went to Dillon last year at this same time of year in a snow storm. We made it this year with no snow. It was actually quite nice. We had fun playing cards, working out at the gym, watching Jay coach a youth basket ball team, going to a Montana Western Game and watching Jay play a city league game. We also had great food, lots of visiting time, going to church, and we even managed to squeeze in hair cuts. It was a great trip!
Our next adventure took us to Zion. Lloyds spring break and my spring break are not at the same time so we decided to take a week end and pull our trailer to Zion. We had every kind of weather during our time there. The first day it was sunny and warm. The next day it rained all day and we woke up to snow on the last day. The canyon was beautiful and changed along with the weather.
Sunny!
Rainy!

50 years old and falling apart! :)

This blog post is just for Lloyd. He keeps telling me how old he is and that everything is falling apart. He says it is all down hill from here. I am older than him and I am still hanging in there. I guess it all started when he decided to get a full hip replacement. He has been in a lot of pain for the last few years. He had to have me help him put on his socks and had very little mobility. So after visiting Dr. Smith in St. George we decided that on December 14 he would go for it. Everything went great! We stayed in the hospital for 3 days. They let me eat all the meals with him. You have to have someone come and learn how to care for you after surgery and I got to be that someone. Lloyd joked that it was our $10,000 a night bed and breakfast, and we didn't even get to sleep together. Ha Ha! His hip doesn't hurt any more but it has been quite a process getting back into the swing of things. We walked for 3 miles today and up and down lots of stairs. He is getting stronger and has almost no limp. It really has been quite fun to spend so much time together. I think we will like retirement. He also had a root canal, and has a rash on his face which has added to his feeling old enjoyment. I think he is better than ever!
This is just after surgery. He told the Doctor he was here for a partial resurrection. He wasn't sure how to take that statement. You know Lloyd, he kept all the staff entertained.
The next day!
This is kind of gross, but he thinks it is cool. It is a picture of his incision if you can't tell.
Physical Therapy at the hospital. Lloyd loved his daily walks.
This is how we did Physical Therapy at home. He started back to school three weeks after the surgery. He was tired but it was good for him to be out doing something. All in all it has been a good thing.
